I went to the same Open Day as Pete and had a similar experience.
I assumed that an Open Day would take place at the clubroom but instead it was at the local village hall with NO PARKING.
I indicated that I was a member of another club and asked about the club room and was told it was nearby but that did not reveal it's existence in case of theft. I didn't ask how new members ever got to the club on that basis

This club was based in Falmouth and ran one of the largest exhibitions around here. They lost their existing club room and moved to a new location which is about 20 miles away as the car goes.
I have since learnt that the club has broken in 2 with the Falmouth living members starting a new club. I also gather that both clubs are now very small and that neither will be running the annual exhibition in future which is a real shame.
Regards Graham

I once went to the local Amateur Radio Club.
Did'nt know anyone there apart from the guy I went with.
The look I got was like when the gunman walks into the wild west saloon.Thumbs Down
No one actually made me welcome so I never went again.

I actually got a better reception when I went to the Largest Hamradio meet in the World at Dayton Ohio. All of the yanks I meet made me most welcome, nice bunch!
Would definately go back one day.
If nothing else works a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.
