Stephen has the right idea,a condensation box, just a box with the exhaust going into it......

Cheers Allan, I think that's the way I'll be going.  I think I can fabricate one out of sheet brass which will not only stop the huge plume of steam, it will also add a bit of bulk to the loco's outline.

Thanks to both of you  Thumbs Up
I'm really enjoying this little loco - it's got loads of room for 'enhancements'. Real Big Smile

Here is an off the shelf Chedder version which is prbably too big but the derscription explains how it works and would be simple to make:

    Yeah, sweetly cute.
For the exhaust what if the exhaust ran up outside the funnel, steam would be in almost the right place.

Thanks John but the problem with having it too close would be that all the condensate/oil mix from the first few turns of the flywheel would drop down the chimney and straight into the fire (or burner) and cause a bit of a problem      I also want to get rid of that huge jet of steam as he toddles along so it'll be the  condenser solution for me, I think Thumbs Up

I was beaten by a computer at chess recently - but it was no match for me at kick-boxing.

That's given me an idea... I was thinking of a square condenser, but seeing this, perhaps a cylinder shaped one might look rather good!
...... hunts round workshop for suitable 'donor'....
