Landquart Grusch Bahn GE44 111 conversion 27/01/12 08:42 PM (permalink)

Been busy for a while. This GE 44111 started life as a badly converted MOB version.
It has been completely striped down. The donor being Coop.
Also been learning to use Gimp graphics.
The Graphics I have made using the Gimp programme. This time I have tried dry decals instead of water slide.
Not yet complete as some of you may notice and to the purist the roof detail is wrong so if anyone has a proper roof please PM me

Hi Paul I used a dry decal paper from Crafty Computor Paper.
They supply two types of paper to make the decals. The first sheet has gloss on one side and matt on the other. On the matt side you print you art work ( if text mirror script it ). Allow to dry for about an hour. Now for the second sheet carefully remove the white backing sheet a little at a time and apply to the inked side of the first sheet, pressing down with a ruler or something similar. Allow that to dry for an hour. Then cut round the decal and remove the backing sheet leaving the decal with the reverse side covered in glue. Apply to your job ,( be careful it is a one shot ) . Once applied remove the front sheet leaving your decal in place. Not as easy as water slide but more funRolls EyesSickThumbs Up
