out in the sun yesterday - 2 sons home, so 3 engines in steam
Russell sporting safety valve bonnet, also used water top up valve system for extended running
all purchases from stoneleigh - also a new brakevan to make the log train more like the W&L where they seemed to run one at both ends

    seen from the other direction
the shed is hopefully going this year as its rotting, after 10+ years, and the cats have taken a fancy to it

      Lovely pictures, Paul.

Glad to see the Stoneleigh purchases being put to work. I do like the safety valve bonnet - I'm partial to a bit of Victorian/Edwardian "bling" on locos.

not much railway activity this year [or posting] due to work weather and family distractions
had a few runs this autumn after major leaf clearing and damage limitation

we have, though, started the next stage of development, removing the old, rotten, small, shed, and putting in new trackwork to reconnect the steam-up sidings
the new shed 12' x 6' can be seen in the background. the next stage - autumn or spring depending on weather - is stonework and bridging to connect it to the main line, then a return connection to the Highland extension to allow through running at this end

believe it or not, first run of the year
bit of tidying up , and it ran fine, apart from one set of points which still needs its guides fitted, and one loading gauge limitation attended to with a lumphammer
