minimans Richie Some more up to date pics shows the start of the Rotar housing build made from plastic card alot of details yet to go on rivits and bolts + the rotar needs some teeth, have put on some more hand rails and small details next job to do will be the electrics and wiring for motor and lights .Have had no luck finding a Bachmann tender so Rio Grande No 9 may loose its tender . Richie I have a box of Delton Tenders her if you want a couple I'll put them in the post to you? it's just the deck and tender no trucks but it will give you a start and I think most of the rotary's that went out had double tenders? Hi Minimans That would be great i have some spare bachmann trucks that might fit how much would you like for one and how much would the P&P (Shipping) to England cost ? Have been looking on E bay for tenders but they seem to go for £20 + Regards Richie

Hi minimans if you have another couple I would be interested. I think that Richie has got me hooked on kitbashing my USAT Rotary. I would put motor blocks in the tenders to have a little more oomph. pm sent

You're doing a great job on the snow plow, Richie! It's hard to believe that it's your first bash! I wish that we got snow here in California so I could use a snow plow, but we don't.

Many thanks for your comments George , I can't believe it my self that my first bash is turning out so well ,have added more detail than i had planned and spent more than i thought but i think it will pay off in the end .

minimans Well George it did snow once in Rohnert Park! My kid got suspended for throwing snowballs at recess...................... Paul, we've actually had a few flurries here once in a while, but nothing that ever stayed on the ground for very long. A number of years ago, we had enough to almost cover the grass and my eldest daughter made a snowball from it. It's still in my freezer!

Richie Been adding more detail parts this week have added a whistle and hatch to the roof , small hinges to the side hatches added the rest of the hand rails and canopys over the doors and windows ,started adding detail to the rotar housing using milliput to mould the curves and angle plastic card for brackets still got to add rivit detail . I found that the fan blades were quite fragile so i have added millerput to make them stronger . Have also made a start on the electrics wired up the small motor to a battery to work the piston inside the plow just starting on the lights . Won't be long now to get some paint on what a MINTS!!!!!!!.........WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF KIT!!! WELL DONE.....KEEP posted mate...........look good and pently of details on it!!!! well done..

Truly inspirational. What a fantastic model. Nice "step by step" too! I never fail to marvel at the skills and results posted on this site. Looking forward to seeing it painted. Really cheered me up looking at this. Mick

It's impressive Richie, I can't believe its your first effort at a bash. Well done. You'll be finished in the garage by the time the weater warms up though.

beavercreek Richie....truly spiffing Where you got all the little detail bits that you did not make yourself ie hinges etc.. What is the motor rating for the rotor? Mike Hi Mike The small hinges were made from thin plastic card cut into squares and glued on all the small nuts and washers are Hartfords white metal castings from Back2bay6 , Not sure what the motor rating is it came out of a old Bachmann 2-4-2 i had . Just waiting for my dad to bring up a tap and dia set so i can put a thread on the fan drive and screw it into the worm gear on the motor . Did you get your tender bodies Mike are you looking at using them on your plow ?
