Richie, I somehow managed to miss this, but Gareth has been telling me about it. Absolutely brilliant mate, especially considering it's your first bash. Hope to see loads more in the future. Great job Thumbs Up.

              Hi Richie
Well now that you have a beautifully finished rotary perhaps you need one of these...... just something I knocked up....I WISH!!
Accucraft's efforts.... My lads were working on it as it needed an overhaul.
Unfortunately one of them is a bit of a shiftless plonker....

Nice pictures Mike although I think the guy leaning on the flanger is telling the other bloke to "have sex and travel at the same time"!!

Great looking model that flanger is that a brass model ? Looks like i could have ago at one of these, am i wright in thinking that this runs behide the loco ? Was also thinking of building a spreader OV but looks like a hard job . Your figures look very well painted Mike what paints do you use as i painted two engineers the other day but look abit glossey even after spraying with matt varnish .

                        Hi Richie
I repainted or painted nearly all of my 'people' this year, about 150 all told. I bought a lot of unpainted figures and decided to 'personalise' quite a few Prieser, Pola, LGB, Bachman, Woodland scenics, Lifelike, Railpress and other figures.  I use only matt paints from makers like Revell, Humbrol but also some made up from pigment dust.
I use very fine tip marker pens for the white eyes and the pupil/iris and lips. I use Testors matt spray varnish, a little expensive for a small can but it is definitely the best matt finish as I have tried them all! All matt sprays need a lot of shaking before use, a lot more shaking than sheen or gloss, to agitate the fine particles of pumice that gives the matt finish.
I do like giving the little folk expressions and personalitles even if some have an air of madness
I had bought a lot of the Bachmann Scenecraft railway workers and engineers and had to 'Americanise' them to fit with my layout era and definitely get rid of their fluorescent orange jackets.
I could take a couple of photies of the final effect if you like.

                          Hi Richie
forgot to say that the flanger is an Accucraft model and is a little beauty. It looks a little out of scale when used behind anything less than 1:20.3.
They were pulled by locos when their own plow was not 'man' enough to clear a wide enough cut through the snow.

Sound units arrived today from Mr Rails ,fitted the whistle sound unit in tender number 2 fitted a push button switch to activate the sound but also comes with a reed switch which i might put on . The main steam sound card is in tender number 1 set the voltage to fast so at low track speed the plows cylinders are chuffing quickly very nice it sounds at low and high speed would highly recommend these sound cards at only £30 Thumbs Up Will do a youtube video of it running when the sun comes out .
