Unknown Carriage - 08/03/10 08:04 PM ( #1 )
Hi Guys,
I picked this carriage up at our local model show at the weekend and was wondering if anybody could tell me who manufactured it?
It is gauged for 32mm and was in a box with 2 similar coaches, one identical to this and painted in talyllyn livery. there was also a talyllyn 4 wheeler and a brake van.
Thanks
Rob

Rob probably doesn't know what shillings and tanners are. Guineas are cute furry things, tuppence is something you couldn't give, a farthing is a place quite a way away. Remember them sticks of barley sugar out of the big jar for a ha'penny?

No shirt, no shoes, no dice!

A catalog in 1987 was $3.  I would gather the kit with wheels and couplers was around $40, (close to $80 today) but this is purely a guestimation of what I could have paid on my own at 14-15 years of age for such a kit.

You rang?

I will get really worried when you start going on about groats.....

Everyone laughed when I said I wanted to be a comedian.

They're not laughing now......

Wow, I about nailed the price.

Found the price lit for 1986 from the dealer in Ohio (USA) that had them.  $35 for the van, I am sure the couplings and wheels were another $5-10.
