Had another money saving idea this morning. If you check the new track plan, you will see that a set of storage sidings were included in the far corner of the garden. The original idea was to build a small deck like structure as a baseboard, which may have had to wait depending on how the budget worked out.
But then I looked out of the bedroom window and was thinking about what I was going to do with the 5 2foot square slabs I had left over. Et voila..........
This is very much a quick mock-up, I think I'll be able to make the real thing 4 slabs long (8') rather than 3. The sidings will just sit on the slabs so that they can be moved around and taken up as neccasary. One things for sure, it ain't never gonna go rotten!! And all for free using stuff that's left over

.
The ultimate plan is to build some sort of frame or legs for my engine shed diorama so that it fits over the top of the sidings, thus providing storage both for trains and locos.
Are those spare roofing panels I see in the background??????????
