I assume it's on its way to me?    Not got here yet, but it probably went on vacation over 4th July!

As soon as 'she' arrives, I'll report back.

The boxcar arrived here in Shalimar, Northwest Florida this afternoon.

Photos this weekend.  First it's got to go and relax on the beach for a while (avoiding in the oil, which we are being spared this week at least) and get a tan.

The box van arrived here in beautiful Northwest Florida (nothing like Miami or Orlando - Kingdom of the Rat!) lat week and rested by spending a couple of days on the pure sugar white beaches of the Emerald Coast.  Then got into some serious operation on the South Buckinghamshire Light Railway.

Luckily the new bridge over the Tortoise River (trying to work out a name for this as the river is used by our local Gulf Coast Box Turtle - Terrapene Carolina Major)  so the branch is now open allowing the van to pose on the new bridge.

Lyn and the branch goods from Gerrards Cross to Datchet wait while Number 21 brings the Saturday afternoon passenger service into Farnham Common from Beaconsfield.

Much moo-ing from the cattle waggon

Sunday morning and the box van does duty on a Beaconsfield to Farnham Common mixed.

Sunday afternoon - the box van waits in a goods from Gerrards Cross to Datchet via Farnham Common and Burnham Beeches.

Having grown up in Windsor in the 1950s, don't I just wish there had been a narrow gauge railway connecting Datchet and Beaconsfield, instead of the number 441 bus!

It wouldn't have been as fast as the 441 and the girls from St Bernard's and the LVS wouldn't have been on the train!

The South Buckinghamshire Light Railway runs from Datchet (connection with the Southern - previously LSWR), up through Eton, Dorney, Cippenham, Burnham (connection with the GWR), East Burnham, to Farnham Common. From there one line runs up through Hedgerley to Gerrards Cross, and another via Littleworth Common to Beaconsfield.   When built there was no railway Beaconsfield to Gerrards Cross - the Great Central came later, so a connection was laid between the two branches making a convenient loop.

Owned independently, but with some stock and locos contracted to, and running rights given to the GW and Southern.

Now, what was that about needing to get out more?

The box van will be on its way courtesy of the USPS on Tuesday to Tennessee.

Box vans are supposed to carry goods, so inside this one is a small container of white sand from Okaloosa Island on the Emerald Coast of Northwest Florida.

Perhaps folks could put a little something from their area in the van - no contraband of course!

Soeaking of, I may have arranged a "side" trip for the car, I figured it should do some sightseeing while here in the US.  Working on the logistics as we speak....stay tuned!!!

Well as long as it gets here before the snow drifts do , late Nov, and if not I will do what everyone  else does ,I will blame it on Fred.
I'm really easy to get along with, once people learn to see it my way.

In all the construction debris in the front of the house today was a box from Owen.

Now to wait for the weather to break!
