I finished up the UP caboose. The trucks have brass sleeve bearings in them. I made the axle 'ends' from embossed metal foil that I tapped with a brass tube for the round area and pressed the end of  a file in it 3 times to get the bumps.  I made the decals from clear laser decal paper. THere is a blinking red LED up on the cupola, you can barely see the light behind the smoke stack, it is a piece of brass tubing.

A great build Jerry - fascinated with your use of the foil - it really looks like sheet metal on the finished caboose. Nice job.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I just got a Woody figure from the 'Toy Story' movie to put on the back waving. Just the right size!  There is a nice caboose build over on the Large Scale Central, in the modeling forum. He put two bobbers together to make a longer one. Might check it out.
