The best bit of any model is adding the details , well its the bit I like best anyway. Last night I added the starts of the hinges, today they have been shaped a bit and some notches filed in to make them a little more hinge like. I have also made some door handles that need a little more shaping, and the door stops. Finally I have bent up some welding wire to make the grab handles John

The last Southern EMUs were scrapped this year! They ran on the Lymington Branchline until SouthWest trains decided they were too costly. Sadly they last ran in May... Back on topic and your coach is looking better and better. Well Done!!!!

Today has been one of those Saturdays when I hoped to get a decent bit of modelling time but didn't. In the 20 mins I did escape to the shed I decided a coat of primer was in order. I find it helps to find what needs attention. John

I've spent a couple of days in London. 12 days ago we took our 16 year old daughter up to Newcastle to join the youth crew on a "Tall Ship" the Stavros S Niarchos. She spent the last 12 days sailing the North sea, including a stop in Holland. The climax was coming up the Thames yesterday afternoon and under Tower bridge. More info on my external blog http://rjrmodels.blogspot.com/2010/07/stavros-s-niarchos.html We got home today mid afternoon and I have only spent half an hour in the shed tonight, a couple more details added, lamp brackets and guards hand rails on the ends. and a light dusting of primer on the underside

How I wish someone had done that for me when I was that age, I'd've been the making of me. Come to thing of it I don't think sailing ships were invented that long ago. Anyway I'm sure she has appreciated it and hope that she realises how lucky to be able to do such a thing. Absolutely magic (just like the MkI.)!
You don't have to be mad to play trains on the TVBL....but it helps if you're a little loco! Being long retired, I've discovered that now I work a lot harder than before, it's just that nobody pays!

What scale are you using? As it is standard gauge running on 45mm track.

That is just as fantastic as the Sulzer , I am in awe of your talent ( this from someone who thinks he has done well to get the paint to land on the surface it was meant to & cannot cut a piece of paper in a straight line ) Cheers Garry

Life is full of compromises, the big one here being I am modelling in 1:24 or 1:24.5 to be exact as I use 1mm to the foot. which means I have the worlds first narrow gauge class 25 ??? I have disguised it slightly by making the bogey frames quite thick. It is obvious if you sit and stare but given that I am running on cheap and cheerful playmobil track , what the heck ! John

What the heck, indeed. If I could get plastic card to perform like that I would feel very pleased with myself. It's reward enough just to see your results! Alec K
