I am looking to purchase some G Scale seated figures to populate a railcar. Ideally British outline first half of twentieth century. Anybody know of any?

Thanks
Peter

Preiser do some great seated passengers in period costume. Unbeatable quality IMO, but very expensive. Check out Gaugemaster's website for the range .......... then buy from somebody cheaper like Garden Railway Centres or Dragon G Scale Real Big Smile.

Bachmann Scenecraft are very good too (and a lot cheaper), but maybe at bit too modern. Perhaps they'd be suitable with a bit of re-painting?

I have just bought some seated figures off eBay similar to what RJR shows above. They are from China  and the German seller made it clear that they are not of the same standard as Preiser or Pola, but he was implying that inside the coaches, they do the job. Well, I certainly bought the argument, and the figures! They are to a smaller scale than the German companies, so you are best to go with one or the other inside the coaches. Seems to me that most visitors pay far more attention to the figures out in the open. The ones in the coaches - they are just there. They are a lot cheaper of course, the Chinese ones. Fortunately I had secured the earlier Pola figures in my coaches only with blu tac. This means they were liberated,  ready to become customers of the soon to be opened Pilsner Urquell pub next to the station
The seller was very good, with reasonable post charges, and for sure he has more, if you are interested:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I bought a couple of the Modeltown figures to see how they look inside the railmotor. They are 1:19 whereas the railmotor is 1:22.5 so they may be a little big.

those chinese knock offs are indeed good for inside of anything-
                          and

                          i learned

its worth getting them painted regardless of how badly done or garish the colours

its far easier to touch up than to paint 4 dozen flesh or white colored plastic versions
