Remote control couplers from Kadee
-
23/07/10 02:40 AM
Here's an interesting link off the kadee site. It seems to be in development at present as apart from a simple video there aren't any details of how it works or what parts have to be fitted just the names of the bits. There's a transmitter, receiver, actuator and coupler involved but only a picture of the transmitter so far. It might be radio control or DCC but no answers as of today http://www.remoteuncoupling.com/index.htm

And I second that. Just what I need for my balloon loop track! Cant wait!
You don't have to be mad to play trains on the TVBL....but it helps if you're a little loco! Being long retired, I've discovered that now I work a lot harder than before, it's just that nobody pays!

Thanks for the heads up. The video looks interesting but the whole web site is remarkably short on detail. Although I use Kadee's on most of my wagons somehow I don't think I will be converting them all to body mounted remotes.........Just think of the cost!! (they dare not even mention it on the web site at the moment). AC

My guess is that given there is control over the flat car coupler as well as the loco, the system is DCC based.

Someone (in Germany?) does a kit to let you use an R/C servo to operate the standard LGB coupler. Can't remember who but I don't think it is modellbau-heyn Cheers David

I noticed on the Grootspoor site that Zimo seem to do DCC uncouplers for LGB style couplers. I can't quite make it out but there seem to be two different systems. Anyone know anything about these? I looked on the Zimo site but found nothing. Link to Grootspoor is here: http://grootspoor.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=28_1493 look towards the bottom of the page. Regards Cliff
