MIAS Models Freight Platform Review
My Review of the Mias Models Freight Platform.

I have another fine Mias models item to review.

This freight platform with wooden effect top size wise is -

385mm(L) x 110mm(w) x 55mm(h)

Length of top platform  240mm.

This works out just the right height when matched up with my range of Aristocraft box wagons and by sinking model in to ground slightly matched my smaller Bachmann stock as well so will fit most G Scale stock just fine.

Once again the weight of these models really is miss leading as the overall effect created by the painting and brick design really fools the eye into thinking that this is a really heavy model made from those very items they model.

What did catch my eye on this model was the very realistic wooden effect top. It looks like this is a separate moulding bonded to base which I think allows Mias to create a better model with and interesting lip which creates a bit of depth so as to stop it being a flat one piece moulding.

As with their other items this is made from fully weather proof recyclable material and should last a life time.

Once again the level of detail at this price point is very high with a uniform brick pattern on base and the wooden top has full plank detail along with fixing points at each end of plank which I found looked very nice.

It's funny how ideas can come from a model and after playing a round in the garden with this model seeing how it would fit out in the garden against a real railway I have found a home for this model along a newly created goods siding and this will form part of a raised area with a warehouse on. I have yet to build this project but more will be posted soon on website how I used this platform in my new freight area on my railway.

The cost of this model is £22.95 plus postage and can be produced in a size to suit you and the base comes in a selection of styles to match most railways and buildings.

Another worthy model from Hywel at Mias Models.
