TUXCRAFT
CHURCH REVIEW.

This another concrete building from
the large Tuxcraft range of which more can be found at www.tuxcraft.com
The model is about 45cm in
length and at its widest about 35cm. It is not quite solid concrete as it has
scoop from the middle although this still leaves a building with very thick
walls that are more than strong enough for outdoor use, I also find that this
scoop helps when carrying the model as it's a real heavy
weight.
I bought my church ready
painted but it also comes in an unpainted version as well, if you go for this
option I find that car spray paints work well as long as you finish off with a
good coat of matt varnish to help protect the paint. The amount of detail is a
lot higher than I was expecting and all windows and doors are moulded with
relief effect, although there is no way of lighting the interior as the windows
are all moulded as one with the building but I have got a garden light near it
to add some atmosphere at night. One thing I found is that ants just love living
in side the church so now once a year I lift the building and give it a quick
squirt of ant powder inside and that seems to keep them at
bay.
There are a range of
accessories to go with the church and I also bought some stone walls again
painted and a collection of their tombstones which all help to add to the scene.
With the tombstones I found it help full to attach a small bit of cane to the
backs with a bit of car body filler so that you could stake them into the ground
so that they stayed up.
This product has been built
with durability in mind and as my railway shares its home with a nine year old
and a large dog it has taken some knocks each time comes off best so in most
gardens it should last a life time.
On the quality of this model
I have also invested in many other models in the Tuxcraft range and I will in
due course review these as well.
